While decorating the body with tilaka,
we give protection to the body by chanting twelve names of Viṣṇu.
Although Govinda, or Lord Viṣṇu, is one, He has different names and
forms with which to act differently. But if one cannot remember all the
names at one time, one may simply chant, “Lord Viṣṇu, Lord Viṣṇu, Lord
Viṣṇu,” and always think of Lord Viṣṇu. Viṣṇor ārādhanaṁ param:
this is the highest form of worship. If one remembers Viṣṇu always, even
though one is disturbed by many bad elements, one can be protected
without a doubt. The Āyurveda-śāstra recommends, auṣadhi cintayet viṣṇum:
even while taking medicine, one should remember Viṣṇu, because the
medicine is not all and all and Lord Viṣṇu is the real protector. The
material world is full of danger (padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadām). Therefore one must become a Vaiṣṇava and think of Viṣṇu constantly. This is made easier by the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. Therefore Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has recommended, kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ paraṁ vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam, and kīrtanād eva kṛṣṇasya mukta-saṅgaḥ paraṁ vrajet.

if it is under our control it will act like a friend when it is not in our control it will become our greatest enemy, so if the mind has to be controlled we have to follow many principles we have to do meditation, also we must apply tilak for men, sindhoor for women, the forehead should not be empty, it becomes easy to hypnotize a person who does not have tilak or sindhoor or any auspicious symbol his/her forehead it is easy to mesmerize, so it is very important that we apply tilak/Sindhoor don’t go around outside without wearing tilak/Sindhoor it is inauspicious to go around like this. It becomes easy for tantricks to attack a person who does not have tilak on their forehead; the mind can easily be controlled if people do not have tilak/sindhoor
Our mind should be in our control, mind deliverer is called a mantra, so whenever there are inauspicious events we have to chant hare Krishna maha-mantra to chase away inauspicious living beings, maybe like yaksha-rakshasa, ghosts, bhuta, preta, pisacha like that so many evil spirits they all attack us because they do not have proper food, there are living being who eat human beings who are called rakshasas, they will be attacking us ghosts will be attacking us bhuta, preta, pisacha, yaksha, rakshasas, so many living entities looking out for their prey as we are looking for our food they are looking for their food so don’t become the food of these ghosts.
keep yourself clean internally and externally men must apply tilaka on their forehead, women must apply sindoor on their forehead, for small kids we apply black mascara/ointment in the face, hands, legs, cheeks because it will protect them from evil eyes/spirits, mantra means mind deliverer, the mantra should be chanted as much as possible which will deliver us from all kinds of evil spirits/eyes mind is always disturbed because of various things external or internal causes.
Wife/husband cheated us our children/friends cheated us businessmen cheated us neighbor/partner cheated something like that disturbances will be there some kind of financial losses, family members loss, friends loss, health-wise something or other problems will be there, we suffer through the body, mind, suffer through other living entities, natural calamities in this way there will always be threefold miseries cyclone so much devastation anything excess is not good, Hare Krishna maha-mantra is 1000 times more powerful mantra.
A mantra can deliver us from certain difficulties there are various mantras for Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Rahu, Kethu Gayatri mantra is there different planets/ different deities different mantra for wealth, marriage, property, success, progeny, for fame, for rains so many things beauty, business, job, profession, increase in the profits or sales So many things to become a manager in a company/NGO/Governmental post-victory over enemies

people kill the cows they suffer through the mind, through the mother, people kill bulls who are like one’s own father, kill cows which are like one’s own mother, or if people kill babies they will not have children in the future they will not take birth in a good family, those who kill parents they degrade themselves to lower forms of life so why lord Brahma had taken birth in a mleccha family, non-Vedic family yavana, Muslim family it is said lord Brahma had stolen the cowherd boyfriends of Lord Krishna along with their calves this was the cause for his birth in a non-Vedic followers family, mleccha family, unlawful meat-eaters family by this all his past mistakes were rectified. mantra means deliverer of mind, the mind is always flickering here and there it’s always accepting and rejecting something, the mind is always having various stress, anxiety, some kind of distress when we are happy mind is happy, peaceful, When the mind is agitated, disturbed then we are unhappy by seeing the unfortunate incidents by seeing threefold miseries we will be suffering through the body, mind, through other living entities, through natural calamities there will be threefold miseries because of this also we will be suffering because of lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness, jealousy, all these things are impurities which afflicts our mind we suffer because of this so a mantra may be helping us to be liberated from one particular situation just like if you chant a particular mantra, that will give us some results.
There are various mantras for marriage, for childbirth, there is a mantra for career progress, there is a mantra for getting property, solving property disputes, property-related things, there is a mantra for Sun god, there is a mantra for Moon-god, there is a mantra for Mars, there is a mantra for Jupiter, guru, Sukra, Sani, Rahu, Kethu, like that there are nine mantras for nine planets. So people chant different mantras to get relieved from the affliction of these planets. So there are different mantras overall to achieve certain goals there are certain mantras that may give them the results, they desire.
If they chant one mantra whatever desire they have it will be fulfilled through that planets, just like various Austerities/vratas are being performed by gopis to attain Lord Krishna as their husband they perform some austerity in that way they got lord Krishna as their husband
So every sacrifice everything there is a mantra Vedic sacrifice there is chanting of mantras so that mantra will fulfill certain purpose but hare Krishna maha-mantra it fulfills almost all the purposes, it can relieve us from all kinds of distresses, because maha-mantra means 1000 times powerful mantra it can relieve us from all kinds of distresses. It may be like some kind of distress through the mind some confusion, some anxiety, some depression, and then when we commit offenses
we will have some guilt feeling and some kind of Jealousy, Enviousness, Quarrel, Lust, Anger, Greed, Illusion, Madness, these are the impurities which sit in the mind. So various distress mind undergoes always. Mind is always flickering just like waxing and waning moon, our emotions are always changing, waxing moon, Waning or Waxing moon our emotions will be different, Emotions are very important for relationships, caring each other; helping each other these are very important for relationships.
Hare Krishna maha-mantra can relieve us from almost all kinds of distresses this mantra is considered to be like maha-mantra, 1000 times’ powerful mantra In order to chant Hare Krishna maha-mantra there are no hard and fast rules, But it has to be chanted loudly such that we can hear daily at least 108 Hare Krishna maha-mantra needs to be chanted this will give us peace and happiness in our life.
This is the mantra that means mind deliverer our mind should be in our control, when our mind is in our control, it will act as a friend, when our mind is not in our control it will act like an enemy, So controlling the mind is very important. When Arjuna says that it is difficult to control the mind than controlling air, so it may be easier to control the wind, he felt that it is difficult to control the mind, lord Krishna also approves the statements of arjuna yes it is difficult to control the mind but by practice, we can control the mind by the regular authorized process of practicing chanting the mantra we can control the mind, we have hare Krishna maha-mantra. Daily fixed number of rounds we have to chant fixed times It is always better especially early morning sattva guna is predominant chanting early morning is very good until unless one is sick or he has some health issues, It is always better he chant early in the morning If he has some health issue, some women, children so they can chant later also anyway throughout the day whenever you get free time, chant make sure you complete the number of rounds committed to chant, everyday one has to chant a fixed number of rounds 108 into 2,3,4, etc fixed number of rounds needs to be chanted so mind should be focused, if the mind is focused then we can be peaceful, if the mind is not focused, there will be a various chaotic condition so many things are running in the mind.
So many distress like you go to internet so many websites are there, android phone, so many applications are there so many notifications will always becoming so many distractions of our mind so until unless the mind is peaceful it cannot be happy, So we have to come out of the distractions our mind is stolen by technology, technology is Stealing our mind, Especially Rahu is a planet which covers sun and moon causing Eclipses Rahu covers Sun it becomes solar eclipse when it covers moon it becomes lunar eclipse, it is like Maya, Rahu is Maya
It covers us when our mind is covered by illusion we forget lord Krishna when we want to enjoy independent of lord Krishna then Maya immediately covers, Krishna bhuliya jiva bhoga vancha Kare Maya tare japatiya dhare, when we want to enjoy independence of lord Krishna immediately Maya comes and captures us, So Maya and Krishna they are constant companions Krishna is Surya Maya is a shadow of lord Krishna. If you want to engage in the service of Lord Krishna yoga Maya will be there to assist you, if you want to engage in your own sense gratification maha Maya will capture you. So yoga Maya, maha Maya they are two energies of lord yoga Maya is spiritual energy maha Maya is material energy. It is like imprisonment when you want to enjoy independence of lord Krishna immediately Maya captures us and causes us various distresses.

We commit various offenses knowingly or unknowingly by chanting this Pancha tattva mantra offenses are not considered, in our life we see various things sometimes good events sometimes bad events. Sometimes unwanted/Unexpected events happen sometimes unexpected good things happen.
In life we see various competition worlds are full of competition, competition-driven world, competition for money, property, women, there is always, some kind of competition exists. Because of competition, there is various jealousy, enviousness, when, we do not get things we become angry when we get things we become very greedy we may not get things which our friends or our neighbor might have got, they become envious health competition is always welcome, enviousness is not welcome so Illusion is a darkness ignorance/Tamo guna, madness is also Tamo guna Mad after certain things, illusion, and madness.
So in this way in our life there are various issues lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness, enviousness, these are the impurities which are there in our mind, the impurities are there in us and it comes through others also. We have some relative who is sick, envious, who does not have any control over his mind just like some mad people they do not know what they are doing, some people who are ghostly haunted Caitanya Mahaprabhu says pisachi payle mati chenna hoy when a man is haunted by ghosts he speaks all nonsense so mind should always be under our control. We have to chant the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
So mind should not be controlled by ghosts we should control the mind, make sure we do not allow our mind to be controlled by evil spirits or durdevatas, there are various devatas there are good demigods, there are evil planets or durdevatas we should not allow our mind to be controlled by durdevatas. When the mind is controlled by devotee parents/Temple authorities/friends/relatives it is very good because they are all good souls mahatmas whereas when we allow our mind to be controlled by some duratmas or some durdevatas then we will be suffering, Prabhupada mentions Somewhere in his books when one is influenced by some evil planets he will suffer, certain planets are considered to be evil planets like Saturn, Rahu, Kethu, they are considered to be evil durdevatas when they are controlling us we will feel a lot of difficulties in our life.
We cannot progress in life when we commit offenses against parents, children, women, cows we suffer committing offenses against cows we suffer from various problems when we commit the offense to mother we suffer differently when we commit offenses to father we suffer differently these are called an ancestral curse. Because of which we suffer, we will not have proper progeny our children will not be obedient to us. When we are not obedient to our parents our children will not be obedient to us, reactions will come back. And when we do not perform sraddha/Tarpana properly to our ancestors there are people who die because of natural calamities, die because of committing suicide, die because of some kind of health issues, Some people do not attain higher planets, Sometimes what happens they degrade to lower planets, when people are too much sinful because of committing various sinful activities like illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating, gambling, those who commit too much sinful activity they degrade to hellish conditions, there are various hells they descend to those hellish planets. So the children do not perform Spiritual activities, even they also commit various sinful activities. They do not perform proper Sraddha/Tarpana Funeral rites they do not perform or follow the family tradition properly then the ancestors also fall down because of which again children’s will suffer, guru gives us Diksha with the promise that we will follow four regulative principles if we do not follow four regulative principles then guru also will suffer the sinful reactions of his disciples.
That is why we have to follow the 4 regulative principles properly if we do not follow the 4 regulative principles properly then gurus will suffer for our sinful actions. So a king suffers because of the sinful actions of his citizens. So it is very important that we follow the Vedic customs of course so many things we are not following nowadays. Lord Krishna set an example as to how to lead an ideal family life. Srila Prabhupada Spread hare Krishna maha-mantra all over the world everyone is chanting the hare Krishna maha-mantra so it is very important that we chant as much as possible so this hare Krishna maha-mantra is very simple and every one can chant there are no hard and fast rules for chanting this mantra in this age of quarrel and hypocrisy this is the only recommended process.
Now we had coronavirus we all suffering because of this many people have died 1000’s and 1000’s of people have died because of the virus it’s a kind of Virus eating us krimibhojana there is a hell called krimi bhojana here viruses are eating us why this happens because if we do not give food to others certain Problems will come especially to our own parents. If we eat certain animals like cows those who eat animals like cows also suffer various conditions.
Generally In my experience I felt that snake planets like Rahu, Ketu is the cause for these kinds of viruses, because the aquatics, plants, trees, and insects 3rd category of living entities, among the insect categories Snake also comes, next is birds. First are aquatics, then plants, trees, next are snakes, and next are birds. Krimis are eating us now the influence of viruses has increased viruses eating human beings these are unfortunate incidents so the reactions are coming to us in various ways maybe we have killed a lot of viruses/insects.
we have killed a lot of earthworms we might have killed, lot of cows, animals, all these are reactions of our Sinful activities so we have to understand in this way. We don’t have the right to kill anyone unnecessarily, we may defend ourselves but killing the cows is the greatest sinful activity lord Krishna he likes cows, lord Krishna like the Brahmanas, followers of Vedic culture so any offense to these one suffers the reactions Cow and Brahmans are very dear to Lord Krishna if we commit any offenses towards them we suffer the sinful reactions in this world various diseases are coming.
This is actually unfortunate incidents when people suffer we suffer when people are happy we are also happy it is our responsibility that we do not commit any offenses against other’s that we do not kill animals, we do not kill worms, unnecessarily we should not kill anyone, we should lead a natural lifestyle. Whatever God has given us we should live in that way. Technologically we are too advanced now but this technology is not going to feed us we have to work in the field, grow our own food with that we can sustain ourselves. Prabhupada also wanted that we grow our own food we keep the water reservoirs In proper order do not encroach the reservoirs we do not encroach the natural systems created by god. God has created different situations for different
Categories of living beings we should not pollute the water reservoirs just like nowadays they are polluting Yamuna/Ganga River they are polluting So many rivers in India of course in many parts of the world the same situation exists. So it is killing the aquatics, plants, so many living entities are dying because of the demoniac civilization, when people are envious we also become envious of them when people create the illusion we become illusioned, when people are mad we become mad by association we contaminate ourselves, Sangat sanjayate kamah kamat krodhbhijayate krodhat smritih vibhramah smritih bhramsat bhuddhi naso bhuddhi nasat pranasyati. By association, we develop the desire.
